BLUEBONNETS

It’s sunny on Monday
A tornado on Tuesday
Wednesday is freezing
And Thursday a hundred degrees
A flood’s coming Friday
Oh ‘cause that hurricane might stay
Saturday might just be gray
And Sunday we’ll see
No telling which way the wind blows
From El Paso to Waco
Wherever the wind blows
That’s where we go

And maybe Texas skies are just
A bit too much like me
But I know there’ll be
Bluebonnets in spring

I feel everything deeply
From the joy to the weeping
And nobody knows what to do
When I say what I mean
I’ve heard I’m too hot or too cold
That always too much kind of gets old
And nobody asked you to fly
So please hide your wings

Oh maybe Texas skies are just
A bit too much like me
But I know there’ll be
Bluebonnets in spring
Yes I know there’ll be
Bluebonnets in spring

Don’t give up on me
Don’t give up on me
Don’t give up on me
I’m still growing

And maybe Texas skies are just
A bit too much like me
But I know there’ll be
Bluebonnets in spring

Yes I know there’ll be
Bluebonnets in spring
